in which I’m a sucker for a happy ending…

… or at least a happy denouement.

Hello, Reader! Sorry for the radio silence. One of our children was hospitalized for several days with a kidney abscess. Said child his home now and stable, but his recovery will take a while. I’ll be here manning the fort, as mother and nurse and occasional poet, as he makes his recovery.

I’ll be back on the blog, although possibly with less frequency as I learn the intricacies of administering IV antibiotics, run him back and forth to follow-up appointments, etc.

Right now, I am just so grateful for all the advances in medicine that have made treatment of his abscess possible, for the compassionate care he (and our family) received in the hospital, and for the support of family and friends.

See you back here again soon. And may all your denouements and endings be happy.
